Choosing the Best Coleman Camp Stove

If you are planning to buy a Coleman camp stove, you will find a number of different models to choose from. While each stove is designed to be as safe as possible, you may want a model that has specific features.

As may be expected, it will be best to think carefully about each feature, so that you have some idea of which ones are most important to you. For the most part, you should be able to find the best stove by weighing three main points.

One of the most important things you will need to consider is how much heat you want to get from the stove. As you study each model, you will soon find that heat generated is measured in BTU's. Even though a higher temperature may be desirable, you may also find that the stove will consume fuel faster. Unfortunately, you will find that carrying extra fuel when you are hiking can make you feel tired faster than you realize. Therefore, you will also need to think about temperature in terms of fuel consumption and travel feasibility.

Chances are, if you are love a morning cup of coffee along with breakfast, you may want to have a stove with two burners. That said, if you can get away with a single burner stove, you will find that it weighs less, and will work just as well. In some cases, you can also find a double burner stove that will also serve as a heater. Without a question, if you want to consolidate functions, this may be an ideal purchase. At the very least, you will not need to try carrying two pieces of equipment.

Finally, you will need to think about weather conditions. As an example, if you are going to cook outdoors, there will always be some type of breeze. Unfortunately, breezes and wind can wreak havoc with an open flame. In a similar way, you may find it very difficult to cook in the rain. That said, a number of stoves come with shields that will block excess wind, as well as rain. While these stoves may be a bit more expensive, at least you will be able to cook in most weather conditions.

There is no question that a Coleman camp stove can make your camping experiences much more enjoyable. At the same time, it is very important to make sure that you will be able to carry the stove and its fuel comfortably. Before you purchase a specific stove, it is very important to do what you can to choose one that will fit your cooking needs as well as remain within your travel limitations.
